Alex Rodriguez Is the Now the Face of a Makeup Stick Marketed for Men

For a long time, the social norm has been that women wear makeup and men don’t. Obviously, this isn’t always the case, but it often is. Perhaps that’s about to change.

When Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez broke up, Lopez quickly moved on to former beau Ben Affleck, but Rodriguez moved on to something else – makeup.

Lopez and Rodriguez invested in the company Hims and Hers when they were still together, and now, he is the face of a new concealer for men. The concealer is called The Blur Stick, and it is described as an easy way to “camouflage everything from blemishes to razor burn to dark eye circles.” The stick comes in 8 shades to make it easy for men to find one that will blend in with their natural skin tone.

No applicator is needed for The Blur Stick. Men are instructed to apply it with their finger. There are even photos of Rodriguez demonstrating how easy the product is to apply.

On Instagram, Rodriguez explained, “I realized as I was jumping from meeting to meeting, I needed something quick and easy in my routine to conceal blemishes or razor bumps.” He says that’s why he’s excited about The Blur Stick. He added, “It’s a convenient concealer specifically designed for men that can be used for skin imperfections..Check it out, I think you’ll be surprised how often it comes in handy.”

At just $17, The Blur Stick sounds like a good deal, that is, if you think it’s a good idea for men to wear concealer. Not everyone does.

Some of Rodriguez’s fans seem to think the product is a good idea. One follower wrote, “Good for you!!! I’m a makeup artist and the grooms are always asking for some help with blemishes or razor bumps and are shy about putting women’s products on their face- so smart!!”

Another comment reads, “I love it! Normalize men wearing a little something make’m look hotter!!!”

However, not everyone thinks makeup for men is a good idea. Some of A-Rod’s fans are making fun of him. One comment reads, “Really ? After a breakup I go out drinking, and you go and start using them makeup?”

Another person wrote, “Men don’t need to be perfect or concealed in anyway … this is hilarious.”

Do you think it’s “hilarious” for men to wear concealer? Do you know any men who would order The Blur Stick? Does it surprise you that Rodriguez is advertising makeup for men?
