Lori Loughlin Privately Paid $500K To Put 2 Students Through College Following College Admissions Schedule

If it seems like we’ve been talking about the college admissions scandal for years, it’s because we have. The news first broke in 2019, and after claiming they were innocent for months on end, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli finally pled guilty in 2020, admitting that they had paid $500,000 to make sure their daughters Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli were admitted to the University of Southern California.

In the past year, both Loughlin and Giannulli have completed their time in prison and have paid fines. Now, they are trying to move on. Loughlin has even returned to acting with her first post scandal role. She is reprising her character from “When Calls the Heart” on the spin-off show “When Hope Calls.”

Loughlin hasn’t forgotten about the scandal though. She has actually gone above and beyond what was required off her. After completing her required service hours at Project Angel Food, Loughlin continued to donate her time at the organization. In addition, Loughlin has completely funded the college education for two individuals at a cost of $500,000. This includes tuition and other related expenses. It is not known how she chose the students or what their names are.

According to a source that spoke to US Weekly, now she hopes she is “allowed to move on.” Yet, she still feels like there’s a “stigma attached to her by people who don’t want her to have any success.”

Her daughter, Olivia Jade, is trying to move on too. During the first episode of her new podcast, she admitted that she has trouble forgiving herself, and it’s hard for her to hear people say she hasn’t learned anything from this experience. She explained, “I would be crazy not to have learned anything from this situation.”

For her part in the scandal, Olivia Jade posed on a rowing machine to make it look like she was an athletic recruit. She claims that she didn’t know at the time that her parents were doing anything illegal.

Even though the scandal was hard on Olivia Jade and Loughlin, the mother and daughter are still very close. Olivia Jade has been competing on Dancing with the Stars, and she told Us Weekly, “Literally right after we got off the stage, I called her! She’s the biggest support ever. She’s really proud of me and I love her so much.”

Does it surprise you that Loughlin decided to pay for two students to go to college? Do you think she will be able to move on from this scandal?
