It’s official; Lori Loughlin will be spending 2 months in prison for her part in the college admissions scandal where she admitted to paying $500,000 to guarantee her daughters admission to the University of Southern California. She and her husband Mossimo Giannulli admitted to the charges, in which they pretended that their daughters were crew recruits even though they have never participated in the sport.

The sentence has been set, and Loughlin even got to choose which prison she will be going to. Her top pick prison is a low-security prison in Victorville, California. The dormitories at the prison are similar to what you see on the show “Orange Is the New Black” with 2 to 4 people per dorm and short walls that act as partitions.

Loughlin will have to adapt to prison life which includes waking up at 5:30am, going to bed at 9:30pm, wearing a green uniform like everyone else at the prison, and possibly even working at the prison. She will not be able to see her husband, who will also be in prison, and she will not even be able to see her daughters since visitors currently aren’t allowed at the prison, most likely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Things aren’t all bad though. Loughlin, like all the other prisoners, will have 300 minutes she can use to call and talk to family and friends in 15 minute increments. She will also have access to quite a few activities that sound more like classes we would take for fun than a punishment at a prison.

The prison’s activities include exercise classes like yoga and pilates plus art and music classes like painting, crocheting, drums and guitar. Loughlin just might pick up some new hobbies while she’s behind bars.

Loughlin will also be able to purchase brand name toiletry products from the commissary at the prison. According to the prison’s handbook, each inmate has $360 per month to spend on products like Colgate toothpaste, Oil of Olay, and Degree deodorant.

Loughlin is supposed to report to the prison no later than November 19th. Once her time in prison is complete, she will still have 2 years of supervised release, 100 hours of community service and a $150,000 fine.

Does it surprise you that Loughlin is actually going to do jail time? What activities do you think she’ll participate in while she’s there?
