We Were Watching The Kids’ Christmas Recital, Then Everyone Lost It When They Started To Shake

Little kids are both wonderful and stressful. One moment they might be the most adorable, sweetest, kindest little people on the planet. The next minute, they might be throwing a tantrum on the floor of a store because they didn’t get something they wanted. As a parent, it’s hard to know what to expect.

Children’s recitals are similar in that you never know if it’s going to be adorable and amazing or cringeworthy. Sometimes listening to children sing off key can be hard to sit through, even for parents, but not all recitals are like that. Sometimes, the children are an absolute joy to watch even when the performance isn’t 100% perfection.

If you’re ready to ditch the pumpkin spice lattes for peppermint mochas, and if you believe that nothing screams Christmas joy like happy little children, then get ready to smile at this adorable Christmas recital.

Allow us to set the scene. The parents are sitting in the audience patiently waiting for the performance. Some of the children probably practiced at home, so some of the parents may have a tiny idea what to expect, yet it’s an entirely different experience watching your child practice at home versus watching dozens of little children perform together.

The children, who are all dressed in matching green outfits to go with the season, walk single file onto the stage and take their positions. They stand there, waiting. The audience is waiting. Then, the curtain opens revealing the children standing on the stage. The audience claps and cheers in delight, but they don’t even know what’s to come.

Some of the children wave at people they recognize in the audience. Some of them clap along with the audience. One little girl in the middle starts shaking her hips.

Then, the music starts. It’s “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,” and the children stop waving and clapping. They immediately start the performance they’ve practiced, and the audience cheers even louder. It’s truly something you have to see for yourself.

Watch the video below to see this delightful performance. It’s sure to make you smile and put you in the mood for the holiday season.
