Kelly Clarkson Gets Candid On ‘Huge Divorce’ From Brandon Blackstock On Podcast

Kelly Clarkson became a household name after winning “American Idol.” Now, she has her own talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and has been busy hosting “The Voice” and a new show called “American Song Contest.”

While Clarkson’s career is going well, her personal life has been a mess, and it’s been even messier because she’s in the public eye. Clarkson has been going through what she called a “huge divorce” from her ex Brandon Blackstock. The former couple has argued about things like child custody and whether or not Blackstock should be able to live on the Montana ranch. In the end, he was forced to leave.

All of his drama in her personal life has been one reason Clarkson hasn’t released any new music since 2017 with the exception of a Christmas album in 2021. Clarkson went on the podcast The Chart Show With Brooke Reese and explained that writing is a way for her to navigate her feelings, but with the divorce, it’s been difficult for her to write anything that she feels comfortable sharing publicly.

Although Clarkson has not released new music in awhile, she plans to record a new album at some point. She explained, “I just got to figure out what I’m going to release. I’ve never had this difficult of a project.”
