Ah, the Oscars. There are lots of reasons to love the film awards show—from the celebrity sightings to the high-end fashion and, of course, getting to see all the worthy recipients of the Academy Awards.

But each year we find that there are certain little moments that stick out from the show more than the big ones. For example, this year, no one can stop talking about how cute it was that Keanu Reeves, 55, brought his mom as his date to the Oscars.

While Reeves does have a girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, we can’t help but smile at the bond Keanu has with his mother, a costume designer named Patricia Taylor, 76.

There are so many reasons Keanu’s mother should be proud of her son, and it was obvious by their connection on the red carpet that she was loving being able to accompany him there. They were both the perfect arm candy for one another, even complimenting each other by wearing corresponding white and black suits.

Of course, the internet can’t stop swooning at how adorable the act was, and how much they adored seeing the two together.

“Keanu Reeves bringing his mom to the #Oscars is the best thing you’ll see today,” one person posted on Twitter.

“Keanu: 1 Everyone at the Oscars: 0,” another tweeted.

“Keanu Reeves took his momma to the #Oscars. Can this man get ANY MORE adorably perfect?” someone else quipped on the platform.

The answer to that last one is no! This isn’t the first time Keanu has done something adorable, or the second or third. The Hollywood star is known for his selfless acts of kindness—like that time his flight got canceled so he happily took a bus with other standard passengers, or that time he was riding the subway, and without hesitation, gave up his seat for a woman who was standing. A fan caught it on camera and it’s the most aww-worthy moment, especially since he has no idea anyone is watching.

There was also that time he bought an ice cream cone (at full price) just so that he could provide an autograph to a movie theater worker on the receipt. The man really thinks of everything! That’s probably why he was so thoughtful about inviting his mother—the one who raised him into the kind man he is—to the Oscars.
