Kate and William Address Prince Louis’ Show-Stealing Moments During Jubilee Weekend

Being a parent of a toddler is both wonderful at times and frustrating at times. Toddlers are cute, curious, smart and sometimes funny, but they often don’t understand boundaries and limits. They don’t know how to manage their emotions very well. They get bored easily. When they’re tired or hungry, they become unreasonable.

Want to know what a typical toddler looks like? Just look at Prince Louis’ antics during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. He made two appearances over the weekend at the Jubilee, and both times, he was unable to maintain his composure. Unlike the older members of his family, who pretty much stood or sat still and smiled politely, he made faces, stretched his arms and blew raspberries at his mother.

Want to know what it’s like to be the mother of a toddler? Look at how Kate Middleton reacted to her youngest son’s antics. She maintained her composure, but numerous times, she was seen trying to redirect her son’s attention or politely correct his behavior.

Videos of Louis’ antics went viral, and there were multiple reactions to his behavior. As we’ve described, his antics seem to be those of a typical toddler, proving that royals aren’t that different from the rest of us after all, at least as toddlers. However, others reacted with more concern. Some people thought Louis looked unhappy at the events. Others thought Louis’ parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, should have done more to correct his behavior.

The royals know that the world saw Louis’ antics. They are not uninformed by the differing perspectives on his behavior or their response to it. Now, they are speaking out about it for the very first time.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge used their official Twitter account to post a few pictures from the Platinum Jubilee festivities. There were three parts to their tweet, but the last picture was a black and white photo that showed Prince William and Prince Louis from behind. The test reads, “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…”

Many people responded to this tweet sharing their favorite Louis moments from the Jubilee celebration and thanking the royal family for allowing them to see that all toddlers act up sometimes, even royal toddlers.
