JetBlue Is Offering Free Flights For a Year If You Delete All of Your Instagram Posts

At what lengths would you go to get free airfare for a year? Would you eat a slug? Listen to nails scratch a chalkboard for five hours? Forfeit all your clothes? Yes, yes, and yes.

How about delete all your Instagram photos?

Most people—at least people who are active on Instagram—stop dead in their tracks at the thought of the latter. It seems silly; of course deleting everything on the photo-tracking app is worth a whole year of free flights, but it’s still pretty hard to get yourself to do something that, well, drastic.

JetBlue is putting travelers up to the challenge by actually putting forth this exact offer. As part of a contest promoting the return of JetBlue’s “All You Can Jet” pass, the airplane company is asking people to delete all of their photos on Instagram to qualify for free flights for an entire year.

After deleting all your photos on Instagram, you must then upload JetBlue’s templated “All You Can ____” image on Instagram, and fill in the blank space with anything you’d love to do.

Part of the contest is filling in the space with something truly meaningful. Make it good. You can only enter once,” JetBlue states. Yeah, they’re not messing around. Free flights are at stake, after all.

After uploading the photo, just make sure you add the hashtag #AllYouCanJetSweepstakes to your caption and tag @JetBlue and you’re good to go.

We know what you’re thinking—but don’t even think about creating a separate account to enter the contest with. The instructions state quite clearly that your must be “active,” so those choosing the winners will likely be inspecting the accounts thoroughly to make sure they’re real (e.g., a decent amount of followers, tagged photos, etc.).

The Points Guy does have one recommended: “Your best course of action will likely be to archive images, so you can restore them later,” he suggests, giving directions on how to do that here. We’re not sure how this might affect your chances of winning though, so proceed with caution.

We do know that you must have this photo up until the end of the day on March 8, 2019—with the rest of your Instagram photos completely erased. Entries must be submitted by 9 a.m. and on that day, JetBlue will pick three lucky people who participated in the contest to win free flights for a year!

Okay, so there’s one tiny catch about the grand prize: Taxes and fees still apply to each flight—but still, if you travel frequently, that’s a ton of money saved for the year.

Airfare is one of the most expensive parts of traveling, so this contest can really help someone explore some of the places they’ve always wanted to go to, if finances was stopping them.
