Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Share Details About Tying the Knot In Vegas Over the Weekend
In 2003, Lopez and Affleck, also known as Bennifer, postponed their wedding and eventually canceled it, breaking up and moving on to marry other people.
In 2021, Bennifer reunited after Lopez split up with Alex Rodriguez. Friends of Lopez originally claimed she was just friends with Affleck, but months later, they made their couple status Instagram official.
Over the weekend, Lopez and Affleck traveled to Las Vegas to get married. It was the opposite of an over-the-top celebrity wedding. It was a very small wedding at a Las Vegas chapel called the Little White Wedding Chapel.”
Lopez shared images and details about the wedding when she announced the news to followers of her newsletter. She explained, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
She explained that they stood in line with other couples to get their marriage license. Lopez’s twins, Emme and Maximilian were at the wedding. Lopez shared, “So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle.”
Lopez seems very happy at the way the intimate Vegas wedding turned out. She explained, “In the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”
In the video below you can see a peak at Lopez and Affleck getting ready for their wedding. She thanked “the Little White Wedding chapel for letting me use the break room to change while Ben changed in the men’s room.”
Lopez signed off her post by announcing her name change. “With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”
