Harry’s Hitting The Midlife Slump

The big 40 is approaching for Prince Harry. His birthday is on September 15. His wife Meghan Markle (42) is planning a special event with many popular celebrities according to Page Six

Unfortunately, there probably won’t be any royal family members in attendance. For one, the party will be held in Montecito, California which happens to be thousands of miles from California.

This week, Harry and William found themselves in the same room for the first time in over a year, but the extreme tension between them remained unchanged. The disagreement, which began after Harry’s intense interview with Oprah Winfrey and the release of his memoir “Spare,” showed no signs of healing. According to Page Six, reports suggest that the once-bonded brothers did not talk, and William has made it clear that he does not want Harry present at his future coronation.

Harry left the royal family in 2020 to start a new life in the United States. He returned to the UK to attend a memorial for his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. He served as royal courtier and husband to Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes.

“William is not speaking to Harry,” a source revealed to Page Six “Harry isn’t the main issue here.”

Another royal insider, familiar with both brothers, added, “William is furious. It’s hard to imagine how they could ever mend their relationship.”

On Thursday, both brothers attended the service for Lord Fellowes at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham, near the royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. However, witnesses noted that they kept their distance and did not speak to each other.

One of Harry’s biggest challenges to reunification with the royals is that Prince Harry doesn’t feel comfortable bringing his family to the UK because Harry and Meghan lost their UK taxpayer funded security detail in 2020.

Since losing government-funded protection, Harry and Meghan have had to pay for their own security, both in the UK and abroad. This includes private security teams that can be very expensive.

In 2022, Prince Harry took legal action against the UK government after being denied the right to pay for police protection while in the UK. He argued that the UK remains his home, and he and his family face significant risks when they visit. Harry’s legal team argued that private security alone wouldn’t be sufficient due to the high level of threat.

As of the latest updates, Harry and Meghan are responsible for their own security when visiting the UK. However, the legal battle over whether they can pay for police protection is ongoing.

Per a source, Harry hasn’t been able to contact King Charles since the King was diagnosed with cancer back in February.

A friend of Harry’s told People, “He gets ‘unavailable’ right now. His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the king’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

During May, Harry was not able to meet with his dad while he was in the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus games. The Invictus Games is an international adaptive multi-sport event created by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. The Games are designed for wounded, injured, or sick armed services personnel and veterans.

It had been previously reported that the king was dealing with different issues and that was why they never met.

Meanwhile, The Sun’s royal editor, Matt Wilkinson shared that he was personally “disappointed” when Harry moved to the United States. He believes that creating TV shows and “picking up awards” is not the life that Harry truly wants to live. Wilkinson also stated his opinion that “Harry’s departure was the biggest crisis of the past 50 years.”

In an interview with OK Magazine, Quinn shared his belief that Harry wants to go home. He said, “During his first six months in the States Harry found everything new and exciting, but the glamor is definitely wearing off.” He added, “There’s only so much you can do when you have no practical skills and you have always paid people to cook, clean and garden for you. Harry has never done any of these practical things, so after he’s taken the dog for a walk in the morning, he finds the day long and lonely.”
