Harry Styles’ Mom Defends Son’s Decision to Wear a Dress on the Cover of Vogue

Musician Harry Styles is part of the band One Direction, which has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary; however, the band has been on hiatus since 2016. Since then, Styles has gone out on his own with a successful solo career.

In July, Styles expressed his gratitude for his career success writing in an Instagram post, “I’ve seen things and places that I’d only ever dreamt of when I was growing up. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most incredible people, and gained friendships that I know I will treasure for the rest of my life.”

Recently, Styles has also had the opportunity to make history. He is the very first man to have the honor of being the cover model for Vogue. Not only does that fact make the December 2020 issue of the fashion magazine historic, but what Styles chose to wear on the cover is also getting a lot of attention.

In case you haven’t already seen the cover, Styles is wearing a stunning Gucci gown.

Inside the magazine, Styles is wearing other high fashion dresses. Although some people don’t think it’s appropriate for a man to wear a dress, Styles’ mom is defending her son’s decision.

During an interview on the UK show “Lorraine,” Anne Twist said she is probably partly responsible for her son’s unusual fashion choices. She explained, “I think maybe I had something to do with it because I was always a big fan of doing fancy dress with them when they were smaller, which [his sister] Gemma hated, but Harry always embraced.”
