A great-grandmother claims she died for 11 minutes, journeyed through both heaven and hell, and returned with a message from God.

Charlotte Holmes, from Wichita, Kansas, was visiting her doctor for a heart check-up in September 2019 when things took a drastic turn. Medical staff were left stunned as her blood pressure skyrocketed, putting her at risk of a heart attack or stroke. Within moments, she was declared clinically dead, surpassing the general five-minute rule typically used to confirm a death.

Her partner, Danny, recalled the harrowing moment to The 700 Club, stating: “Immediately, they call this code and everybody started rushing in. They just started working on her, and I thought, ‘Well, I’m wondering if I’m even going to be able to bring her home.'”

However, while doctors fought to revive her, Charlotte claims she experienced something extraordinary—an out-of-body journey beyond the physical world.

Charlotte vividly described seeing her own body from above as doctors performed chest compressions. Then, a wave of beauty overtook her senses. “I could smell the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever smelled. And then I heard music.”

According to her, the next thing she knew, she was in heaven. “I saw my mum. I saw my dad. I saw my sister. I saw family members standing behind. I saw saints of old. They didn’t look old. They didn’t look sick. None of them wore glasses.”

She described the overwhelming joy she felt in this realm, stating there was “no fear, only joy.” But the experience wasn’t over yet—something much darker was waiting for her.

In a stark contrast to heaven, Charlotte claims God then showed her the horrors of hell. “I looked down, and the smell—rotten flesh—that’s what it smelled like. And screams. After seeing the beauty of Heaven, the contrast of seeing Hell is almost unbearable.”

She described seeing the suffering of lost souls, an experience so horrifying that it still haunts her. Then, she heard a message that she believes was directly from God.

According to Charlotte, she was sent back to the living world with a warning. “He says, ‘I show you this to tell you if some of them do not change their ways, this is where they shall reside.'”

Then, she heard God’s final instruction: “I heard my Father say, ‘You have time to go back and share.'”

After her miraculous return, Charlotte made a full recovery. She spent two weeks in observation at the hospital before being discharged. Now, she dedicates her life to spreading the message she claims to have received—to inspire change and faith in those who hear her story.
