Gordon Ramsay’s  television shows revolve around key themes such as culinary excellence, restaurant transformations, intense competition, and mentorship. Programs like MasterChef and MasterChef Junior emphasize skill and creativity, challenging contestants to meet Ramsay’s high standards. In Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell, he steps in to rescue struggling restaurants and hotels, exposing mismanagement and attempting dramatic turnarounds. Hell’s Kitchen showcases high-pressure culinary battles where chefs compete for a prestigious role in one of his restaurants, enduring his trademark tough love.

The fiery Chef has built a global restaurant empire that spans fine dining, casual eateries, and fast-casual concepts. His establishments range from Michelin-starred destinations like Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London, which has held three stars since 2001, to relaxed spots like Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas and Hell’s Kitchen, inspired by his hit TV show.

However, not all ventures have been smooth sailing—some locations have faced criticism, including the recent closure of a Street Burger in London after poor reviews per an article in Parade.

The Kensington Street branch of his UK burger chain recently shut its doors, with a Daily Mail photo revealing the former Ramsay-branded storefront now rebranded as a new Burger & Lobster. Brown paper covers the windows, suggesting renovations are underway, while the location’s website now returns a 404 error.

However, online review pages remain filled with complaints about the location’s “bad taste, bad service, bad size, bad price—bad everything” in the months leading up to its closure. Before shutting down, the restaurant held a final Tripadvisor rating of just 3.5 stars.

One review said “poor burgers, worse onion rings.” Another reviewer summed up his experience “The food was very average, but extremely expensive, other burger places are much better with a fraction of the price. Would never go back.” A one star review claims that Five Guys is a “much better experience.”

A review titled “Way Below Expectations” said “Tiny Burges. Flat sodas. I ordered the “next level burger” – what a joke – looked like a slider. The bun was dry and cold. Would not recommend it.”

To be fair, there are also many good and even great reviews. One reviewer said  “Had a delicious lunch at street burger and wonderful service by staff. We had a not so simple vegan burger and jfc dirty fries ( must recommended), do visit this lovely place in Kensington guys xx.”
