General Mills Is Recalling 5-Pound Bags of Its Gold Medal Unbleached Flour Due to Salmonella Concerns

In the latest of food recalls, General Mills just announced they are asking consumers to toss 5-pound bags of Gold Medal flour due to salmonella concerns. Although no complaints have been reported, the company is acting out of caution.

General Mills stated that samples of the all-purpose flour were found to be positive for salmonella during routine testing. The company wants to remind the public that flour is a raw product that is not safe for consumption unless it is cooked. Bakers and cooks, be aware!
