If you have kids, you probably reminisce once in awhile about how easy life was before they were born. Don’t get us wrong. We love our kids more than words can describe, but once in awhile we think fondly about the days when things were easier. When we didn’t have to convince our kids to go to sleep. When we didn’t have to convince our kids to eat their dinner. When maybe we could actually sleep and eat without a whole lot of crazy commotion going on around us.

Parents, can you relate? If you need to vent and laugh in the form of an unconventional book that really gets parenthood and doesn’t even try to sugarcoat it, you really need to read Adam Mansbach’s “Go the F*** to Sleep.” 

This is not a book that you read to your children at bedtime. This is a book you read after they’ve finally gone to sleep. This is a book you read with your partner and try not to laugh so loudly that the kids wake up.

The boldly different book was such a hit that Mansbach released a sequel called “You Have to F***ing Eat.” You guessed it. Instead of being about the struggle of getting your child to go to sleep, this book is about the struggle of getting your child to eat. He really gets parenthood.

The books are written in a loving tone and directed at the child in the story, but the crude words definitely make these unusual children’s books. Again, these books aren’t really for children…they’re for the parents.

Now, Mansbach has released a third book in the series called “F*** Now There Are Two of You.” This book is once again addressing the child in the story. The dad character is basically telling the older child that he’s going to be a big brother, but once again, this is not really the type of story you’d read to a child…unless you heavily censor it.
