Authorities are investigating the tragic and gruesome death of 15 year old Débora Rebeca Xi Artola which happened in La Tinta, Guatemala. While her death may have been accidental, her family isn’t convinced that’s the case.

Video footage shows Artola and some friends on top of a roof in La Tinta. At least one of the friends has a camera and appears to be taking pictures; however, Artola is not taking pictures. She appears to be looking around.

The New York Post reports that the teen and her friends were practicing dance moves on the roof. Power lines can be seen nearby, and that’s where the tragedy comes in.

What’s under investigation is exactly what happened to cause Artola to come into contact with the power lines. Was it an accident? According to a GoFundMe set up by a family friend, her family believes she had to be pushed in order to reach the power lines from the roof.

Either way, what happened next was a horrific tragedy. The 15-year-old girl’s body came into contact with the power lines. One video shows the reaction from the crowd standing on the ground below as Artola’s body was smoking as she was touching the power lines.

It got even worse. Her head snapped off, and her body tumbled to the ground below.

Now, her family wants justice. In the GoFundMe, the family friend writes, “The reason behind this campaign is to be able to bring closure to the family, to be able to carry justice and start the legal process to make the people responsible for Debora’s death face justice. Debora was a healthy and happy teenager who was enjoying the company of their friends. The authorities in Guatemala have claimed that it was a negligence accident but multiple witness disagree. Debora had to be pushed in order to reach the high voltage cables that severe her head and ended her life.”
