Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks Will Start Pumpkin Spice Season Earlier Than Ever Before

The year 2020, like all years, started out with so much hope and potential. Many of us bought day planners and/or wrote upcoming events on our digital calendar. The year was something to celebrate.

Now, everyone is pretty much ready for 2020 to end already, and one of the things that marks the fall season and the fact that the end of the year is on it’s way is the flavor pumpkin spice

Everything from Pumpkin Spice Cheerios to Pumpkin Spice Lattes (PSL) is released in early fall or shortly before fall begins, but this year, you can find these items even earlier than usual.

In a statement to USA Today, Jill Nelson, Dunkin’ Donuts vice president of marketing strategy, stated, “While there is so much uncertainty heading into the fall, one thing our fans can count on is the return of pumpkin at Dunkin’. We’re excited to bring them one of the most anticipated flavors earlier than ever before.”

Just how early is early? Dunkin’ will release its PSL and new fall flavors on August 19th. The lineup includes a Chai Latte, pumpkin-flavored coffee, Apple Cider Donut and MUNCHKINS® Donut Hole Treats, Pumpkin Donut and MUNCHKINS® Donut Hole Treats, Pumpkin Muffin, Maple Sugar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich, Stuffed Bagel Minis, Steak & Cheese Rollups, Maple Sugar Seasoned Snackin’ Bacon, and of course, the fan-favorite PSL.

Starbucks will also be releasing the PSL earlier than ever before. The beverage is usually released right around Labor Day weekend, but this year, according to an internal memo that was shared with Business Insider, the fall-favorite beverage will be released on August 25th. That’s almost 2 weeks before Labor Day!

Coffee fans have been vocal on social media about wanting the pumpkin spice latte to return early.

We’re not sure that the PSL can really “save us,” but it’s certainly worth a shot.

If you want pumpkin spice right now, you can enjoy the flavor via Cheerios, Chobani Yogurt or pumpkin-flavored beer, all of which are in stores right now.

Do you look forward to pumpkin-spice lattes every year? Do you think they can save 2020?
