The Debate Over Using the Top Sheet Seems to Rage On

There is more than one way to make your bed. Some people prefer a fluffy comforter. Some people prefer a thick blanket. Some people like a top sheet and a bottom sheet. Some people don’t see any point in using a top sheet.

While many Boomers and members of Gen X and Gen Y probably use a top sheet, Millennials have decided that the top sheet is pointless. At least, one Millennial named Jesse Lynn Harte has decided that top sheets are the greatest thing that Millennials have killed.

When the 22-year-old wrote her humorous tweet, she never expected it to get so much attention. She was simply tired of people talking about how many things Millennials have killed, so she decided to make light of the situation. Yet, she is serious about not using a top sheet an never planning on using one.

Harte’s tweet has been retweeted over 21,000 times and has received over 65,000 likes.

Many people commented on Harte’s tweet, but they were not all on Harte’s side when it comes to the top sheet controversy. Even some Millennials admitted to preferring a top sheet.

Other Millennials said they didn’t even know what a top sheet was until they read the comments on Harte’s post.

Whether or not you use a top sheet, it is important to wash your bedding on a regular basis. One benefit of a top sheet is that it protects your comforter or blankets from your skin which means those bulky items don’t need to be washed as often.

On the flip side, if you don’t use a top sheet, making your bed is much easier since there is only one top layer.

Do you use a top sheet? Are you surprised there are people who didn’t even know what a top sheet was (or are you one of those people)?
