‘Days Of Our Lives’ Actor Passed Away At 39

Actor Francisco San Martin, best known for his portrayal of Dario Hernandez on the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives, has passed away at the age of 39. Police discovered San Martin at his residence in Los Angeles on January 16.

While the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office informed Hollywood LA News per The New York Post that his death is suspected to be the result of suicide.

Francisco San Martin made his debut on the popular soap opera Days of Our Lives in 2011, playing a character who started as a thief but was later revealed to be an investigator. His storyline spanned six months and concluded with his character relocating to Argentina for a new job. The role was later taken over by Jordi Vilasuso, who portrayed the character from 2016 to 2017.

In 2017, per PEOPLE, San Martin appeared in another hit soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. He played Mateo, an estate manager, in a seven-episode arc. His other acting credits include the 2013 film Behind the Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, and a role opposite Gina Rodriguez in the 2017 series Jane the Virgin.

Born in Mallorca, Francisco San Martin spent his early years in Montana, where he began his acting journey in children’s theater productions. As a teenager, he moved back to Spain with his family, where he transitioned into modeling.

In Spain, San Martin honed his craft by taking acting lessons and gaining experience in stage, television, and film productions. His dedication eventually led to his big break in the United States, paving the way for his successful acting career, as reported by Forbes.
