How to Make the Ultra Creamy Mashed Potatoes of Your Dreams

Bon Appetit

There are a lot of great holidays and celebrations that revolve around food. From Easter brunch to birthday cake, we partly look forward to these days because we know we’re going to eat something delicious.

When it comes to mashed potatoes, we think we’ve found the ultimate recipe for the creamiest, richest potatoes ever, and yes, you can prepare them the day before.

One item you might want to pick up if you don’t already have it is a potato ricer. This gadget is game-changing when it comes to potatoes. You don’t even have to peel them. The ricer will keep the peels out of the mashed potatoes (yay for saving time) and will help make the potatoes extra fluffy.

This is not a healthy recipe, but the flavor is worth it. We’re talking a very generous amount of salt, 2 sticks of butter and even a dash of heavy cream. There’s also garlic plus your favorite hearty herb, like rosemary, sage, bay leaf or thyme. We can already taste the rich flavor just writing about it.

The recipe itself is really easy to follow. While the potatoes boil, the cream simmers with the herbs. Then it’s time to rice the potatoes and gently stir everything together.
