An investigation has been launched following the death of an 18-year-old college football player who was found unresponsive in his dorm room at St. Francis University in central Pennsylvania. Kevon Walker, a freshman defensive lineman, was discovered in his bed by his teammates, according to Cambira County Chief Deputy Coroner Joe Hribar, who spoke with DailyMail.com.
A toxicology report is pending, and authorities are hopeful it will shed light on Walker’s cause of death. Hribar confirmed there is no evidence of foul play, and the incident is not considered suspicious. Walker had mentioned feeling unwell a day or two before his passing, Hribar added. Walker’s friends, family and the communities of Walker’s hometown of Buffalo and his campus town of Loretto, Pennsylvania are in shock and in mourning. Classes were canceled at St. Francis University on Tuesday to “allow our campus community time to gather, reflect, and support one another,” according to a statement from the school per The Daily Mail.
His coach posted a tribute to Walker on X.
