There are a lot of things we love about ice-cream. It’s the perfect comfort food, and it’s the perfect food for celebrating. The combination of fat and sugar leaves our taste buds satisfied. It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t have a favorite flavor of ice-cream.

If you ever wished you could change the world just by eating a decadent dessert, Ben & Jerry’s is trying to make that possible. The Vermont-based ice-cream giant has teamed up with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to create a new ice-cream flavor called “Change the Whirled.”

The new ice-cream flavor won’t hit store shelves until 2021 (just another reason to look forward to next year), but we know a lot of details about the flavor now. For starters, it is non-dairy which makes it vegan ice-cream since Kaepernick is vegan.

Although this ice-cream is non-dairy, it will still be just as creamy and decadent as any other Ben & Jerry’s flavor. This sinfully delicious vegan ice-cream is blended with graham crackers, fudge chips and chocolate cookie swirls.

As Kaepernick shared in his tweet about the ice-cream, 100% of the proceeds will go to Know Your Rights Camp whose “mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders.”

Empowering people through ice-cream? Sounds like an amazing idea.
