She Soaks a Dryer Sheet in a Dirty Pan. The Reason Why? So Brilliant.

Have baked-on gunk on your baking or roasting pans? Cleaning them and restoring them to their former glory may seem like a daunting task, but it’s actually pretty simple with this strange tip. All you need to do is head to the laundry room (yes, you read that correctly) and grab a dryer sheet. And the best thing about this trick – you can either use a new or used dryer sheet, so you don’t have to waste a fresh one if you don’t want to.

Simply fill the pan in question with warm water, whether it’s a roasting pan, a cookie sheet or a dutch oven. Then place the dryer sheet into the water and let it sit in the water in the pan overnight. In the morning, before you’ve even done any scrubbing, you should already see some of the burned stuff lifted to the top. Any other baked-on gunk that hasn’t lifted up, however, should be easy to scrub off with a spatula or wooden spoon (the the dryer sheet itself, rolled up).

Have any of you tried this method before? We definitely like the ease of this method – let’s face it, anything is better than scrubbing for what seems like hours on end.

Here are some other methods for cleaning off icky baked-on gunk from pots and pans. Which method is your favorite?
