Championship Boxer Passed Away At 35

Paul Bamba, a Puerto Rican championship boxer, has passed away at the age of 35. His manager, 45-year-old singer Ne-Yo, confirmed the news on Friday, December 27. In an Instagram statement shared alongside Bamba’s family, Ne-Yo expressed heartfelt condolences and officially announced the tragic loss.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched countless lives,” the statement said.

“He was a fierce yet confident competitor with an unrelenting ambition to achieve greatness. But more than anything, he was a tremendous individual that inspired many with his exceptional drive and determination.”

Bamba’s family and Ne-Yo expressed that they are heartbroken and “kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this difficult time as we collectively navigate our grief.”

There was no information on his cause of death provided.

Bamba claimed the WBA Gold Cruiserweight title on December 21, just days before his passing. The boxer posted his last post to Instagram about a week ago.
