If you have ever gained weight and then tried to lose it, you probably know that gaining weight is a lot easier than losing weight. Losing weight takes determination and a lot of hard work. It often takes changing your eating habits, fitness routine or both.
Singer, actress and fashion designer Jessica Simpson knows a thing or two about weight gain and loss. Like many women, she has struggled to lose weight after having children. Simpson has three children, and after her last child was born in 2019, she decided she was going to get serious about dropping the pounds.
In April 2022, Simpson shared a bikini picture to celebrate her weight loss. She captioned the photo, “I have gained and lost 100lbs 3x so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I’m finally spring breakin’ wearin’ a BIKINI!!!!!!” She added that it took “hard work, determination, self love.” She ended the post by writing, “I enjoyed a good proud cry today.” We’re assuming those were happy tears because she looks amazing!
In the picture, Simpson wore a pink paisley print bikini, sunglasses with white frames and a beige cowgirl hat, but her smile was the best part. She was clearly proud of herself and wanted to show off what “hard work, determination” and “self love” can do.
Many of Simpson’s followers raved about her photo in the comments, but some wanted her to share how she dropped the pounds. One comment reads, “You look so good and you had three kids no stretch marks no nothing go girl.”
Another follower asked, “do you ever share how you lost the weight this last time?! Or any of the 3?”

Simpson shared that she has never gotten used to people talking about her weight and her appearance, but she knew to expect it. She explained that when she was on the set of the movie “Dukes or Hazard” where she played the character Daisy Duke that actress Lynda Carter “warned” her that she would always be compared to the way she looked as Daisy Duke. Carter said, “I will always be Wonder Woman and compared to Wonder Woman. And that’s what you’re doing here as Daisy Duke. Just know the words Daisy Duke will follow you for the rest of your career.”
So how did Simpson drop the weight? She explained that she “went to a nutritionist.” She added, “I need to get my eating habits right.” She added that the weight loss helps her feel like her “old self.” She said that she feels even younger now than she did before she had kids.
