Cause of Death Revealed for Virgin River Actor’s Parents After They Were Found Deceased at Home
Days after Virgin River actor Callum Kerr’s parents were found dead in their home in southern France, prosecutors provided new details regarding the circumstances surrounding the sudden deaths of Dawn and Andrew Searle.
Callum’s mother, Dawn Searle, and stepfather, Andrew Searle, were discovered dead at their home in Les Pesquies, located south of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, France. On Feb. 11, prosecutors provided an update on the case.
According to post-mortem examinations obtained by the BBC, Andrew appeared to have died by suicide, while Dawn sustained multiple blows to the head from both a blunt and sharp-edged object.
Despite these findings, authorities in Rodez, who are leading the investigation, have stated that the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths on Feb. 6 remain unclear.
According to The BBC, no weapons or anything that would cause these injuries was found on the property after the property was searched by authorities.
Dawn Searle, 56, was discovered outside the family’s home with a “severe head wound,” while her husband, Andrew Searle, 62, was found inside with “no visible defensive wounds.”

Callum, who also appeared in Hollyoaks for more than 70 episodes between 2020 and 2021. The Scottish actor later shared a family statement addressing their sudden and tragic passing.
“At this time, Callum Kerr, Amanda Kerr, Tom Searle & Ella Searle are grieving the tragic loss of their mother and father, Dawn and Andrew Searle. No family member is available for media interviews or comments,” he said in an Instagram post. “We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this difficult period. We will provide updates as appropriate.”
