Cameron Mathison and Wife Vanessa Split After 22 Years of Marriage
Actor Cameron Mathison and his wife Vanessa Mathison have been married since 2002. PEOPLE reports that they have two children together, a son named Lucas who was born in 2003, and a daughter named Leila who was born in 2006.
Now, the kids are all grown up and heading off to college, but that isn’t the only big change in the Mathison household. Cameron and Vanessa are splitting up.
In a post shared on Instagram, Cameron and Vanessa both shared the same statement explaining, “After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways.”
The couple added kind words about each other writing, “We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together.”
Then they switched gears and turned to the top priority in their lives. They wrote, “Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them.”
They ended the post by sharing, “We remain friends, and both wish the best for one another. We sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition.”

Just days before this announcement, in retrospect it seems that Cameron alluded to the split. He posted a series of photos of himself with his children on vacation together. Vanessa wasn’t in any of the pictures.
Cameron wrote, “Magical trip through AZ so far with my two loves. This fall, Lucas is off to London for Foundation Program at Central St Martin fashion design and Leila is off to American University in Paris for psychology. Every moment is so precious.”

A year ago, Vanessa shared some changes she was making in her life to work towards “embracing my true self.” Her journey to “healing physically and emotionally” included letting her hair go gray and having her breast implants removed.

One year later, it appears that her journey will now be continuing without her husband of 22 years.
The former couple obviously shared a lot of love and memories through the years. For example, back in 2022, Cameron shared a post when Vanessa had her very first acting gig ever, and it involved acting alongside him on “General Hospital.” He explained that she had been a huge fan of the show since before she met him, and being on the show was literally a “dream come true” for her.
