There’s a Cafe Opening in Wichita That Will Serve Up Raw Cookie Dough As Its Main Offering

If there’s anything I know, it’s that cookie dough is one of the most heaven-sent foods on this planet.

When I was little, my mom used to let me lick the bowl clean after making cookies, and it was always one of my fonder memories.

Well, you know, except for that whole “raw egg” debacle. Eating raw cookie dough was kind of not very safe, especially for a young child. So eventually, that had to stop, but man—it was tough to give up something that delicious!

Thankfully, nowadays, there are lots of companies that make safe-to-eat raw cookie dough that are sold in stores. But there hasn’t been anything like that where you can order it in a restaurant. Until now.

If you live in Wichita, Kansas, you’re the lucky resident of a new café called The No Bake Café, located in Clifton Square at 3700 E. Douglas. And just like its name suggests, it offers up raw cookie dough that’s safe to eat, no egg included.

Besides being egg-free, the flour used to make the dough is cooked to kill any bacteria. But the owner of the café, JD Young, promises it still tastes exactly like the Nestle flavor you imagine from your childhood.

Except Young is offering up way more flavors than just your standard chocolate chip (though he has that too). From s’mores to even a unicorn flavor, prepare to be amazed at some of his unique options.

Besides edible cookie dough, the bakery will also serve up a sugar cookie dough that’s gluten free and vegan. Cookie dough we could eat that’s healthy too? This man seriously thinks of everything.

There’s more—customers can even add their choice of homemade vanilla or chocolate ice cream to their cookie dough scoops, and add toppings as well, just like a sundae bar, except better.

The cost for this unique dessert is pretty reasonably priced as well: Just $3.50 for one scoop, $4.50 for two, and $6.50 for three. Oh yeah, and there are waffle cones. Just $1.50 more for that.

Is your mouth watering yet?

Young is also the owner of Funky Monkeys Shaved Ice 21 +, which offers up fun flavors of shaved ice mixed with your favorite alcohol. That’s more of a summer place, so he closed it for the winter to open up this bakery.

Man, does Mr. Young have some good ideas for places to eat or what? What a creative chap!

The No Bake Café will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, so there’s plenty of time to get your raw cookie dough fix, day or night. He may even add a rooftop patio in the summer.

“There’s nothing like this here locally,” JD said. “This is filling a niche, and I think people will like it.”

We already do, and can’t wait to visit to get our fix of this cookie dough! Are you a raw cookie dough fan (the safe kind of course)? Will you be hitting up this no-bake bakery for some goods?
