Brendan Fraser Gets Choked Up By Fan Rooting For His Return To the Spotlight

We first met actor Brendan Fraser in the movie “Encino Man.” The actor made a name for himself in other films like “Airheads,” “George of the Jungle,” and “Gods and Monsters.” Then came the movie, “The Mummy,” Brendan’s biggest role.

Fraser was a remarkable actor for multiple reasons. One, he had heart throb looks. Two, he did his own stunts. Three, he had great comedic timing. We’re talking in the past tense because it’s been awhile since we’ve seen Fraser on the big screen.

Why did Fraser disappear from acting? Doing your own stunts comes with negative side effects. In an interview with GQ, Fraser revealed that he did not walk away uninjured. He explained, “By the time I did the third Mummy picture in China (circa 2008), I was put together with tape and ice—just, like, really nerdy and fetishy about ice packs. Screw-cap ice packs and downhill-mountain-biking pads, ’cause they’re small and light and they can fit under your clothes. I was building an exoskeleton for myself daily.”

He had to have multiple surgeries and was in and out of the hospital for 7 years. The time he spent recovering also took a toll on his good looks. We’re not saying he looks bad now, but he doesn’t look the way he did in the early 2000s. (Who does?)

Fraser made a return to acting in 2016 in Showtime’s show “The Affair.” Now, he’s set to act in a Martin Scorcese film titled “Killers of the Flower Moon.” Fraser spoke about the upcoming project in costume in a virtual meet and greet with TikToker @littlelottiecosplay. During the short video, Fraser looked caught off guard in a good way by her gushing. She said, “Just know that the internet is so behind you. We’re so supportive. There are so many people out there who love you, and we’re rooting for you and we can’t wait to see what you do next.”

Fraser responded by taking a sip of water and saying, “Shucks, ma’am.” The pair was doing the meet and greet in character, so the response fit with the costume. Watch the interaction for yourself below.

Fans are raving about Fraser’s flustered reaction. One comment reads, “I got choked up when he got choked up.”

Another fan wrote, “I’ve never wanted a comeback so much for someone…”

One fan commented, “He looked like he was going to tear up when you told him we loved him.”

Are you rooting for Brendan Fraser to have a comeback? Does his reaction to being told the internet loves him surprise you?
