Boy Band Superstar Hospitalized With Heart Condition
Max George, lead singer of the British-Irish boy band The Wanted, has been hospitalized due to heart-related issues, just two years after the passing of his bandmate, Tom Parker.
George (36) shared the news on Instagram Thursday, posting a selfie from his hospital bed where he gave a cheerful thumbs-up. “Yesterday I felt really unwell and was taken to the hospital,” he explained. “Unfortunately, after some tests, they’ve found I have some issues with my heart.”

“I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet.”
“It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks / months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned! But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support from my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends.. and I’m 100% in the best place.”
“Although this is a huge shock and no doubt a set back, it’s something I’ll take on with all I’ve got! I count myself very lucky that this was caught when it was.”

George’s hospitalization comes two years after his The Wanted bandmate, Tom Parker, passed away from brain cancer at the age of 33.
Max George is an English singer, actor, and television personality best known as a member of the British-Irish boy band The Wanted. Born on September 6, 1988, in Manchester, England, George began his music career as part of the band Avenue before joining The Wanted in 2009. The group achieved international success with hits like “Glad You Came,” “Chasing the Sun,” and “All Time Low,” earning a devoted global fanbase and chart-topping records.

Following The Wanted‘s hiatus in 2014, George pursued a solo career, releasing singles such as “Barcelona” and “That’s Not Me.” He also ventured into acting, appearing in the sixth season of the hit TV show Glee as Clint.
