Ron Carlivati, the head writer of ‘Days of Our Lives’, has left the show. He has worked on ‘Days Our Lives’ for the last seven years.

Two writers will replace Carlivati. They are Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford. Both writers have a long history of previous daytime experience. Cwikly wrote for ‘As The World Turns’, ‘Sunset Beach’, and ‘Young and the Restless.’ She has also worked as head writer at ‘Days.’ Ford began her career at ‘Days’ back in 1992 as an assistant writer and has worked on ‘As The World Turns’ And ‘One Life To Live.’ Her most recent position has been as a breakdown writer for ‘Days.’

Carlivati started working at ‘Days’ back in 2017 as a head writer. Before ‘Days’ he worked on ‘One Life to Live’ and ‘General Hospital.’ He has collected Daytime Emmys for his work.

Per a statement given to Soap Opera Digest,  “Days of our Lives is announcing today that Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will become the daytime drama’s new head writers beginning immediately. As part of the change, head writer Ron Carlivati will be departing the show after seven years. Episodes written by Carlivati will air through April 2025 due to the show’s unique tape to air schedule.”

‘Days’ executive producer, Ken Corday said, “We look forward to approaching our 60th Anniversary next year with Paula and Jeanne Marie at the helm and fresh, exciting stories that we know the fans will embrace. We wish Ron nothing but the best and thank him for his dedication and the respect he has shown to me, the cast, and the show’s legacy.”

This is only the latest shakeup, last fall there was a surprising cast switch. Emily O’Brien took over Jen Lilley’s spot as Theresa Donovan for the rest of the soap season.
