Tony Knight is a comedian and dog trainer who even helped train the dogs of celebrities. His girlfriend’s sister described him as “fit, he was passionate, he was charismatic, funny. He was just a good guy.”

The Daily Mail reports that Knight lost his life during a “freak accident” on June 7, 2024. He was only 54 years old.

Knight was in Lavaur, France, to attend the Rock and Cars festival. During the festival, a large tree branch fell on him and six other attendees. Knight was the only one who didn’t survive the accident.

Knight had recently paid off his home and was planning to settle down with his girlfriend, Hayley Wright. The couple had been together for 15 years.

Wright’s sister, Joann Allen, described the couple as “two peas in a pod.”

Allen is from Australia, and Wright explained, “The hard part will be her coming home to the farm because he’s been there for four years and he’s he’s been pretty handy around the place.” Allen added, “Our mum’s home now on the farm (and) says he’s everywhere … everywhere you go, there’s Tony.”

Allen shared that Knight believed everything was possible. She explained, “If he had a thought, he never believed he couldn’t do it and just went for it.” She also described him as living his dreams.

To support her sister, Allen has started a GoFundMe to help her sister pay “the costs of Tony’s funeral, medical bills and ongoing costs of sorting his estate.”

She described her sister as “living her worst nightmare and facing life without Tony…her soulmate.” She added that Wright “is having to deal with the difficulties of Tony being an Englishman with Australian residency living in France, arranging a funeral, covering hospital expenses, meeting police detectives, doctors and the mayor, visiting the accident site and sorting Tony’s estate, all while experiencing a crushing amount of grief and disbelief in a foreign country.”

At the time of publication, the GoFundMe has raised more than $8000 of the $20,000 goal.
