30,000 Pounds of Beef Have Been Recalled Over ‘Extraneous Materials’

It’s another sad day for ground beef lovers. After numerous beef recalls so far this year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service have just announced yet another one.

The company is called the Washington Beef, LLC, located in Toppenish, Washington, and they had to issue a recall of approximately 30,260 pounds of ground beef chubs products.

The recall comes after it was made clear that the beef has possibly been contaminated with “extraneous materials,” specifically hard plastic and metal.

The ground beef chubs that are being recalled have a production date of Dec. 27, 2018 and include a “Use or Freeze by” date of January 20, 2019.

Here are all of the products you need to look out for. Here, you can find the exact brands and labels on the recall, so there’s no misinterpreting which has been recalled and which hs not.

“FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen in consumers’ freezers,” the news release said. “Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

The recall comes after someone complained to the company on February 28, 2019, but the good news is that there haven’t been any confirmed reports of adverse reactions hat have occurred as a result of consumption of these recalled products. However, if you do have any concerns, call your healthcare provider ASAP.
