Put Down the Canned Soup. Make This Instead!

Nothing’s better for warming up on a cold winter’s night than a hearty, filling soup. When the craving calls, a lot of us turn to a quick can of the stuff, and while we appreciate the ease, the flavor often leaves something to be desired. What we really need is a homemade version that’s also easy to make, and we’ve found an awesome one in this recipe from Michael’s Home Cooking. He’s here today showing us how to make a bean and bacon soup hearty enough to fill and warm us up through even the worst blizzards. Check it out!

You’ll Need

– 1/2 pound navy beans, soaked overnight
– 5 cups chicken broth

– 1 medium onion (one cup)
– 2 small cloves garlic
– 3 Roma tomatoes, chopped with no seeds
– 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
– 1/4 pound bacon
– Salt/pepper/parsley
