Ali Fedotowsky-Manno, a former Bachelorette, has shared that her husband, Kevin Manno, has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, the couple revealed that doctors discovered two cancerous spots on Kevin’s right side. He is scheduled to undergo surgery to have them removed.

Despite the diagnosis, the pair emphasized that the condition is highly treatable. They expressed optimism and a commitment to staying positive, vowing not to let stress overshadow their outlook.

‘We always try to be open and honest. We’re open books with our lives,’ Kevin said. ‘We want to give you guys a quick update about something that’s happening over here in the Manno family, but I’m not stressing about it.’

He added, ‘I know that Ali shared this recently that I had to go in for a scan — a biopsy and then a CT scan. And it came back that I do have thyroid cancer,’ he confirmed. ‘But I’m not freaking out.’

The couple have been married since 2017, and are parents to an eight-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. They elaborated in their post that Kevin’s cancer involves two malignant spots on his right side and is suspected to be in one lymph node. However, they noted that a definitive assessment will only be possible after his surgery.

The couple shared that Kevin’s surgery is scheduled for Monday, February 10. The surgeon will determine during the procedure whether to remove half or the entirety of his thyroid. Also, the couple have already consulted with another doctor for a second opinion.

Fortunately, the doctor emphasized that papillary thyroid cancer is among the less aggressive types of cancer.

‘The first thing he said to us was, “If you have to get cancer, this is the cancer you want to get,”‘ Ali said.

They concluded by asking their fans to share personal experiences with thyroid cancer.
