Cat-Loving Artist Creates Amazing Indoor Tree for Feline Friend

There are so many different types of art. From paintings to sculptures and even using hair dye to turn hair into art, there really are so many mediums for artists to use.

For most people, art in their home probably looks like a few paintings hanging on the wall, but for some people, art is much more elaborate.

Robert Rogalski has been getting a lot of attention for his art. While he can draw and sculpt things that you could set on a bookshelf, what’s really getting all the buzz is a sculpture that’s much larger.

Rogalski built a practically life-size tree inside the living room of his friend’s house. While the tree is stunning to look at, the reason it was built was not for the friend but for the friend’s cat.

This is one lucky kitty! Imagine being able to climb inside what looks like a real tree and even take a nap on the branches. This has to be kitty heaven.

This is not the first time that Rogalski has built a tree. He says that it takes him about 3 or 4 weeks to built a tree, and he builds it on site. He built this one for a little girl’s room.

He also built this tree 10 years ago.

As far as just how he builds a tree, he says,

I start construct a wooden armature, to give structure, then I attaché, then carve sheets, or blocks of foam, that are then covered with a paper pulp / particle clay. that is mixed with heavy duty wood glue.. ( or even fiberglass resin, but I prefer not to use fiberglass ) This is extremely durable.

For something that needs a little less structure, or is Temporary, like a Theatrical Set, or storefront display I’ll build “a tree” out of cardboard, and paper mache.. Some times I’ll do a mix of both techniques.. This is still very Durable.

His posts on social media have lots of comments from impressed fans. One person wrote, “You are a true artist. Hoping to see more brilliant work like this from you.”

Another comment reads, “This is amazing! I would love to have one…”

If you would like to have Rogalski build a cat tree in your home, it’ll cost about $3500-4000 plus the cost of materials. You’d also need to live near Rochester, New York, since that’s where Rogalski lives. He does not ship trees.

Have you ever seen such an incredible cat tree before? Do you know anyone who would want a tree like this in their home?
