American Movie, TV, And Broadway Actor Dies At 48
Actor Jeffrey Carlson was best known for the groundbreaking role he played on the soap opera “All My Children.” When he originally joined the cast of the show in 2006, he played a male rock star named Zarf. Later, his character admitted to being a transgender woman, and for the remainder of his time on the show his character was named Zoe.
Besides Carlson’s role on “All My Children,” he also had several other film and TV credits including the 2005 movie “Hitch” and the 2007 movie “The Killing Floor.”
Unfortunately, a representative for Carlson has confirmed the sad news that the actor has died at the age of 48 years old. A cause of death has not yet been released, and according to a statement from his family, his official cause of death will not be confirmed for four to six weeks.
Deeply, deeply sad about the passing of my friend and teacher Jeffrey Carlson. I really think some people cannot be contained in one life or one form or in the struggle being so brilliant in a dark timeline. Jeffrey changed the landscape even if he doesn’t get credit for it. pic.twitter.com/6E2a0uE85j

Elizabeth Carlson Gingras, Carlson’s sister, also shared a statement about her brother’s death, confirming that he died on July 6, 2023. She explained, “My handsome, brilliant, EXTREMELY talented brother Jeffrey Carlson has gone to be with our brother Gregory Carlson in heaven.” She added, “I can’t wrap my head around why this has happened. What I do know is that I will forever cherish our laughs and the deep love we have for each other. He has left such an impact on so many people it’s so hard to find the words to express how special he was. I have so much to say… but my heart isn’t well enough to provide Jeffrey with the words he deserves. I love you so, so much, my beautiful brother. 6/23/1975-7/06/2023.”
Upon learning the news of his death, “All My Children” posted a tribute to Carlson on social media.
