Alec Baldwin Claims That He Didn’t Pull the Trigger on the Prop Gun He Was Holding On ‘Rust’ Set

Alec Baldwin hasn’t spoken much publicly since the fatal shooting on the set of the movie “Rust.” Pictures show him doubled over in grief after a shot was fired that killed the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and injured the film’s director, Joel Souza.

Before the fatal accident, Baldwin was practicing on set with a gun. It has been assumed that Baldwin pulled the trigger and fired the shot towards the camera, but now, Baldwin is clarifying what happened.

For the first time since the fatal shooting, Baldwin sat down for an interview. George Stephanopoulos sat down with the actor, and asked him a variety of questions about Hutchins, what happened on set, and his feelings about the entire incident. According to Stephanopoulos, Baldwin was very “candid” and “forthcoming.”

During the interview, Stephanopoulos mentioned, “It wasn’t in the script for the trigger to be pulled.” Baldwin responded immediately saying, “Well the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger.” He added, “I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.”

The full interview airs tonight on ABC, but ABC has released a clip of the interview in advance. Watch the video below to learn more about this new interview and to hear Baldwin’s answers to some of the questions.

The full interview with Bladwin, titled “Alec Baldwin Unscripted,” airs December 2nd at 8pm/7pm Central.

If Baldwin didn’t pull the trigger on the prop gun, how do you think Hutchins got shot? How do you think a real bullet got on the set of the movie “Rust”? Are you going to watch the interview with Alec Baldwin?
