Aldi Increasing Starting Pay Up To $23 An Hour, And Hiring Thousands Of New Workers
Growing Grocery Giant Aldi is looking to hire thousands of new workers in stores across The United States. Aldi is adding new stores and needs to add more workers for the busy Holiday period. The company plans to hire 13,000 new store and warehouse employees.
Aldi currently employs almost 50,000 workers, and hopes to have more than 60,000 workers, after the hiring spree is complete.
Not only is the company adding staff; but, also increasing the nationwide starting pay to $18 to $23 per hour. The wage rate will be dependent upon position and market Aldi said in a statement with announcement details.
Aldi is regarded as “one of Forbes’ America’s Best Large Employers.”
It offers great benefits such as healthcare insurance (for workers who work > than 30 hours a week), paid time off, flexible scheduling, and 100% paid parental and caregiver leave.
The company also emphasized that it “outperforms competitors” in providing career opportunities, highlighting that 70% of assistant store managers and over 30% of store managers began their careers as store associates.
