Actor Dalyce Curry has passed away at the age of 95, a tragic casualty of the wildfires currently devastating the Los Angeles area. The heartbreaking news was shared on Sunday in a Facebook post by Curry’s great-granddaughter and caregiver, Dalyce Kelley.

Curry graced the screen in numerous films, including The Ten Commandments, Lady Sings the Blues, and most famously, The Blues Brothers. However, to her family, she was lovingly known as Momma D.

“About an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE 🕊️,” Kelley posted. “We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”

Last week Kelley was searching for her great grandmother on Facebook.

She posted, “My grandmothers house burned down has anyone seen MOMMA DEE? At the shelter searching a third time. Not here.

Kelley last saw her great-grandmother the day before the devastating fire broke out in the Pacific Palisades. Later, officials escorted Kelley to the remains of Curry’s home.

Curry is one of 25 confirmed fatalities in the wildfires that ignited last week, driven by powerful Santa Ana winds sweeping through the region.

Rest In Peace.
