Actor Best Known For His Roles In “Full House” And “The Godfather Part II” Passed Away At 83

Actor John Aprea, best known for his parts in “Full House” and “The Godfather Part II, passed away. He was 83.

According to TMZ, “His manager Will Levine tells us … the actor passed away on August 7, at his home in Los Angeles, with family members by his side.” The actor died of natural causes.

 

Actor Paul Carafotes, who met Aprea on the set of Knots Landing in 1987, posted a tribute on Instagram.

John Aprea was born on March 4, 1941, in Englewood, New Jersey. With a career spanning several decades, Aprea has made significant contributions to both television and film.

Aprea’s most iconic role is perhaps that of the young Sal Tessio in the critically acclaimed film “The Godfather: Part II” (1974). This role set his place in Hollywood and showed his ability to embody complex characters. He further made himself known with a notable performance as Lucas Castigliano on the popular soap opera “Another World,” where he played a pivotal role from 1989 to 1992.

 

In addition to his standout roles in “The Godfather: Part II” and “Another World,” Aprea has made guest appearances on a variety of television shows, including “The Sopranos,” “Full House,” “Matlock,” “Cold Case,” and “The A-Team.” His ability to adapt to different genres and formats, from crime dramas to family sitcoms, showed his versatility.

Aprea’s filmography extends beyond television. He appeared in the thriller “The Game” (1997), starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn, and played a significant role in “New Jack City” (1991), a crime drama that explores the rise and fall of a drug lord in New York City.
