These 6 Nurses Work in the Same Ward — And They’re All Pregnant At the Same Time

Have you ever turned toward your best gal pal and said, “It would be so much fun to be pregnant together”? Of course you have—every woman’s dream is to become pregnant at the same time as their besties. They can have the boy, you’ll have the girl, and they’ll grow up and get married and…

Okay, so it’s not necessarily as easy as that in most situations. Getting pregnant is a totally complicated thing. Not only do you have to wait until you’re emotionally ready—something that can be variable for everyone—you have to be physically ready too, e.g., timing it right when it comes to ovulation and your fertile window and all those complicated things that it takes to actually create a baby.

As you can see, there’s a lot going on when it comes to getting pregnant at the same time as other people. But that didn’t stop six nurses who work together from accomplishing the difficult feat!

The nurses, who work at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, all work in the same department—the outpatient hematology and oncology unit. Nina Day, Bethany Stringer, Emily Johnson, Nikki Huth, Sabrina Hudson and Katie Carlton refer to themselves as the “Fabulous Six-Pack” and are all due within six months of each other.

While some of the ladies are first-time moms and others are on their second child, there are lots of perks to sharing a pregnancy with a bunch of the people you see and interact with every day.

“It’s exciting because, you see these people everyday and they’re a part of your family, and now they’re your pregnant buddies!” Katie said in a Facebook post.

The ladies’ due dates are as follows: Nina: July 30; Bethany: Sept. 8; Emily: Sept. 25; Nikki: Oct. 11; Sabrina: Nov. 13; Katie: Dec. 12.

“All of these nurses have spoken highly about sharing their pregnancy journeys together along with the support, advice and tips they’ve been able to share,” hospital spokeswoman Eryn Johnson said. “Quite the bond that’s been established.”

And if you’re worried about what’s going to happen when they’re all out on maternity leave at the same time? Don’t be—the hospital has prepared for this and has made the necessary plans to continue patient care when the nurses are all out on leave caring for their newborns.

There’s a lot to be said about being pregnant with others. Imagine all the things they can share with each other about pregnancy, and how soon enough they’ll all have little kiddos the same age who can become BFFs, the way their mommies are.
