4 Ways That Oatmeal Can Help Your Skin
Oatmeal is a breakfast favorite, but when you’re not hungry, oatmeal can actually be a great help in the beauty department. Here are some cool ways that oatmeal can help to enhance your skin:
Treat Acne
Heat up some oatmeal and let it cool. Then apply it to the problem areas where acne has started to flare up. Leave the oatmeal on your face for 15 minutes or so while it absorbs and removes oil and bacteria (exfoliating in the process). Then rinse and dry.
Treat Poison Ivy and Itchy Skin
Grind oats or oat flour into a powder, then put into a cheesecloth or a clean pair of pantyhose. Tie a knot to keep the oats inside, and attach it to the tub’s faucet — so that the water runs through the pouch. Draw a lukewarm bath, squeezing the pouch to saturate the water. Now relax!
Moisturize Your Skin
When taking your next bath, add in 1 cup of milk, 2 cups of oats and 1 tablespoon of honey. The combination will help moisturize your skin and relax your body.
Make a Skin-Tightening Mask
Combine 2 tbsp of oats with a teaspoon of avocado and a tablespoon of beer (yep, you read that right). Mix these ingredients together and apply to your face. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse.
