3 Ways to Take Popcorn from Plain to Holly Jolly Goodness

When somebody says the word “popcorn” around Christmastime, people usually think of making old-fashioned popcorn garlands. While those classic decorations are always delightful – and a great excuse to snack! – when we think of holiday popcorn, we think of THIS: the salty snack favorite transformed into a sweet and special treat perfect for dessert, snack time, and every time in between. You’ll Need

Hot Chocolate Popcorn
– 8 cups popcorn
– 1 cup marshmallows
– 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
– 1/4 cup festive sprinkles
Candy Cane Popcorn
– 8 cups popcorn
– 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
– 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
Everything Popcorn
– 8 cups popcorn
– 3 tablespoons butter
– 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
– 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
– 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
– 2 teaspoons dried minced garlic
– 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt

How To

Hot Chocolate Popcorn

  1. Spread the popcorn in an even layer on a baking sheet.
  2. Add the marshmallows on top of the popcorn and toss gently.
  3. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips, stirring often until they reach a smooth consistency.
  4. Drizzle the popcorn mixture with the melted chocolate.
  5. Top with festive sprinkles.
  6. Allow the chocolate to set for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Break the popcorn into pieces before eating or packaging as a gift.

Candy Cane Popcorn

  1. Spread the popcorn in an even layer on a baking sheet.
  2. In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate, stirring often until it becomes smooth.
  3. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn.
  4. Top with the crushed candy canes.
  5. Allow the chocolate to set for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Break the popcorn into pieces before eating or packaging as a gift.

Everything Popcorn

  1. In a small sauce pan, heat the butter until it is completely melted, then turn off the heat.
  2. Whisk in the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried minced onion and dried minced garlic.
  3. Pour the mixture over the popcorn and toss well to coat evenly.
  4. Pour the popcorn onto a baking sheet and sprinkle with sea salt.
  5. Allow the popcorn to dry out for 15 to 20 minutes before packaging.
