16 More Uses for Nail Polish Remover
In the summer, we told you about some alternate uses for nail polish remover. Now, the Go Frugal Blog at FreeShipping.org has some more out-of-the-ordinary ideas to add. Here are some of them:
- Stickers on Glass and Metal: remove whatever part of the sticker that you can, then wipe the entire area with remover. Next, cleanse with soapy water and rinse. When applying acetone to polished metals, be sure to be gentle so that you don’t remove the finish.
- Patent-Leather Shoes: dip a cotton swab into remover and, very gently, rub over the scuffmarks on the shoes. Wash with soapy water, rinse and dry when finished.
- Metal Sanitizer: disinfect straight-edged razors, tweezers and other personal metal implements by buffing with acetone on a cotton swab, cleansing with soapy water, rinsing and drying.
- Remove Leeches: if you or anyone you know is unfortunate enough to get a little leech visitor on your skin, pour acetone over the bloodsucker and peel it off.
